Mission: Represent Christ

Well, since Facebook notes are soooo out of date and long trails of comments don't make for good record keeping, I wanted to create a place where I could process through Life as a follower of Christ, share with others, encourage loving, edifying conversation. No credit is due to me, as I was greatly inspired by a friend who has a blog with seemingly similar intentions and my admiration for her has brought me to this page, along with my deep appreciation and gratitude to my nearest and dearest friends who have always patiently and intelligently processed through things with me.

I have a really big issue I want (continue to) process here, but I don't have the time. What I do have, however, is an app. Hoooorayyyyy apps!!! So, for now I'll be brief.

This morning my devotional took me to Colossians 3:13 which reads in the New Living Translation as follows:

Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Well, that really got me thinking so I read the entire book of Colossians, including the page before it (I have a Life Application Bible) talking about all of the whos/wheres/whens, and really got stuck (in a good way) on 3:17:

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
So even when we don't fully understand something, or when we don't know the exact right answer, we can ask ourselves how we would act as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. Whoa.

So that's my goal. Every day, but also in this blog. How can we do that? At all times. When around believers, non believers, not yet believers, seekers, atheists, lesbians, terrorists, nuns, people. How can we be a representative of Christ Jesus?

The simple answer is to love them.

The not simple answer is how that looks in different circumstances.

and hence the need to process grace.
